The University of the Arts + The Resource Exchange

[one_third][/one_third][two_thirds_last]Our partnership with The University of the Arts Theater Design and Technology Department began when Associate Professor Nick Embree and Scenic Charge at The Walnut Street Theatre Kata Kolb decided to teach their Scenic Painting course with materials from the Resource Exchange. UArts students are learning theatrical painting techniques with lauan and paint that we salvaged from the sets of locally shot films and area theatres instead of on brand new materials. This partnership is in line with our continual Art-from-theArts challenge, which encourages artists of all disciplines to take materials saved from Philadelphia’s creative industries and turn them into new works.
