The art of bookbinding has been around almost as long as language itself. In this workshop, students will be able to pick one of three different ways to make a book, accordion, coptic, and Japanese style binding, and leave with their own hand bound sketchbook. Students will design their own cover with imagery that is meaningful to them.

Scrap paper for sketchbook fill, binding tools, and basic collage materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own collage materials for the cover or specific paper that they wish to bind into their sketchbook. Our warehouse full of salvaged low cost art supplies will also be open and available for purchase of additional materials.
