Art from our Interns!

Doreen making art

Our Steppingstone Scholar interns Doreen, Malikah, and Sienna have been working on reMade art projects while at the store.

Wanting to explore wood working and the use of tools, she used the materials from the store to build a beautiful binder from scratch.  Doreen intends to keep using it for collecting her own sketches and writings.

Malikah used a picture frame, fabric, wool felt that came from a local major motion picture shoot, a ceramic tile, and other reclaimed materials that caught her eye.  She made this great 3 dimensional framed work that depicts a rose in honor of her grandmother, whose name is Rose.

Sienna decided she wanted to use a fictional language to depict her favorite song quotes.  She used a piece of mat board and permanent markers to make this really cool poster she plans to hang in her dorm room.  Good luck at college, Sienna!
