On Monday, August 19th, the re staff set up a table in The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and UArts Pop Up Garden on Broad St. in between Spruce and Pine, featuring reCreate Artist of August and staff member Dylan deVleiger. Dylan built a portable garden from Resource Exchange salvaged wood that hooks onto the back of his bicycle for the presentation!
Visitors were lead in a discussion on identifying plants and the process of ink making.
Weeds that are suitable for ink and dye making are growing in the portable garden. Here you can see Dylan’s drawings that use the ink he made from local plants, like black walnut and poke berry.
It was a beautiful day, thanks to those of you who stopped by. If you haven’t yet, make sure you visit the atmospheric Pop Up Garden!
