Emily Oluoch, a Fashion Design senior at Moore College of Art & Design, came to The Resource Exchange to find unique materials to design a garment inspired by the city of brotherly love as part of Moore’s annual Jumpstart show. She chose the Philadelphia Museum of Art for her inspiration…and art slides!
“The Slides purchased at Resource Exchange accentuated the organza and tulle that were lit up by LED lights. The back of the garment’s opening, emulate the large doors at the PMA. The flowing train represents the steps welcoming the viewer to engage with the work. The garment in its entirety is a work of art. It is made to educate or at least encourage people to examine or question; is this art or the art of Fashion?” – Emily Oluoch
