Children’s librarian Jason Fialkovich from the Middletown Free Library in Lima, PA recently came to the Resource Exchange to find materials for a library fundraiser and community project. He found blank ceramic tiles from our home improvement section which were then sold to families so they could be decorated and returned to the library. They will then be installed along the floorboard of the community room of the library.
So far, the fundraiser has been a huge success!
Jason had this reflection to share: “Thank you so much for salvaging things from landfills that could be reused. Our library does a lot of up-cycling STEM and art projects, so it is great being able to visit a store such as yours to get materials.”
We’re thrilled that these building materials have gone to such excellent creative reuse! We still have a large selection of tiles available, as well as a multitude of other building materials and hardware. What will you make?
