When the Delaware Theatre Company recently wrapped their production of “Honk! The Ugly Duckling Musical” on May 12th, they found they no longer had a use for the large quantity of blue ball-pit balls which played the role of “water in the marsh”.
Ball-pit balls are mainly composed of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) – meaning plastic! Even though LDPE (#4 plastic) is recyclable in Philadelphia, the Delaware Theatre Company saw their great potential for reuse. They contacted the re to make sure the “water in the marsh” would get a more sustainable second life!
Thank you to the Delaware Theatre Company for this fun donation. We’re excited to see how our community of teachers, parents, artists, & creative reuse makers will reuse them! The ball-pit balls will be available for sale when we reopen at our new location at 1800 N. American St.! Reopening date coming soon – until then keep following along here on our blog, Facebook, Instagram, and by signing up for our newsletter.
