Teatro del Sol + reuse on set!

We were so excited when Teatro del Sol came to the re for materials for the set of their latest production, Good Cuban Girls by Iraisa Ann Reilly and Directed by Jose Aviles! Antique figurines from the re can be spotted on stage in the background of the production’s awkward family dinner. “Good Cuban Girls is a coming of age story that navigates the first generation American struggle for cultural preservation in the face of exile.”

A big thank you to Jose Aviles, Director of Education Outreach at the Arden, for sharing these photos from Good Cuban Girls! Teatro del Sol is Philadelphia’s premiere bi-lingual theatre company. Their mission is to preserve the Latin tradition of telling stories by producing and presenting new, contemporary, and classical Latin theatrical works for Filadelfia’s diverse communities.

Don’t miss Teatro del Sol’s next production, Yerma by Federico Garcia Lorca Directed by Tanaquil Marquez in Collaboration with Philadelphia Artists Collective’s Venture Reading Series, December 16th! More details and ticket information on their site here.

Part of our mission at The Resource Exchange is to inspire more sustainable practices within the local arts and to divert reusable materials away from landfill making them more affordable and accessible to artists, students, educators, & makers of all kinds.
