Our summer series of creative reuse in the garden continues this week with a special backyard project from Heidi Barr, founder of Kitchen Garden Textiles + former reCreate Artist!
“Kitchen Garden Textiles makes a sustainable lifestyle more accessible through innovative textiles and information, designed to help our customers transition away from plastic and single-use disposables. We take a wholesome approach to ethics and the environment, ensuring fair wages in our supply chain and using organic 100% natural fibers. Our work includes strengthening the local food system by donating to urban agriculture and working with local farmers to rebuild a regenerative textile supply chain.”
The vision for this dreamy reclaimed window greenhouse + garden came to life with the help of Nick of Lacqua Landscaping, Philadelphia Box Gardens, + reclaimed materials diverted from landfill by The Resource Exchange!
PHL Box Gardens designed and installed the raised garden beds using lumber recently saved from a film set. Lacqua Landscaping installed the greenhouse roof utilizing reclaimed plexiglass also found at the re.
Reuse and sustainability were incorporated into this project from start to finish creating a functional + beautiful backdrop for this photoshoot.
Kitchen Garden Textiles donates 40% of profits from linen produce bags to support local regenerative farms– Weavers Way Farms and East Park Revitalization Alliance (EPRA).
