Last month, Tiffany Threadgould, GVP of Design and Engineering at TerraCycle reached out to The Resource Exchange looking to donate over 100 stainless steel containers and 25 black tote bags. TerraCycle is an innovative waste management company, based out of Trenton, NJ and operating across 21 countries, with a mission to eliminate the idea of waste.
Tiffany has been sourcing reclaimed materials from The Resource Exchange for almost a decade!
Everything from giant umbrellas saved from the 2017 PHS Flower Show for TerraCycle’s outdoor space…
…to scenery windows with skyscraper views saved from the Walnut Street Theatre…
…and even lumber saved from a TV show set for a honeycomb selfie station in 2021!
Tiffany was even a guest speaker at two of our sustainability events in 2018:
Making Materials Matter, a forum co-hosted with NextFab featuring:
Nic Esposito (Circular Philadelphia), Angela McQuillan (Venture Café), Sara Lepori (City of Philadelphia), Angela Vosburgh (Kevin O’Brien Studios), and Karyn Gerred (The Resource Exchange)
and Sharing Our Resources: A Conversation About the Circular Economy!
These stainless steel containers are extremely versatile and the tote bags are perfect for safely transporting drawings and more. We can’t wait to see how our community gives these materials a second life! Thank you TerraCycle and Tiffany for their continued support of The Resource Exchange and for making the world a greener place!
