Hand sewn textiles have always brought me joy. Many of the linens, tablecloths, place mats, dinner napkins, old quilt tops, and dresser scarves I have collected over the years have signs of love and wear from years past. I am inspired to save the parts that are in perfect condition and present them in a piece that can bring joy for years to come. Creating collars out of these precious textiles feels like the best way to showcase their beauty and preserve the hours that once went into making them. Other materials to create these collars such as the bias tape and seam binding are sourced from The Resource Exchange. Backing materials are all second hand fabrics, curtains, etc. Each collar is unique and features a handcrafted textile meant to be loved in a new way.
