I make faux taxidermy shadowbox insects and other specimens using found (recycled/repurposed) objects.

Material Metamorphosis’ is an ongoing series of found object artwork. Each piece is thoroughly original, handmade, and one-of-a-kind. Together, they form a cabinet of curiosities from another world. This series celebrates contrast–creepy and cute, old and new, artificial and organic.Many of the materials used were found outside, whether natural or discarded. Other materials came from flea markets and discount bins. Similar to how insects undergo metamorphosis, these materials are manipulated and reconstituted as distinctive new creations.
