“I have just recently claimed ‘artist’ as an identity, though I’ve always loved making things.  Being retired lets me explore and create freely.  I let joy, enthusiasm, and aching love of beauty be my inspiration. I love making new things out of old things, and reinspiring old articles into useful, affordable art.

I have always loved reclaiming, upcycling and recycling.  I’ve reupholstered and refinished fabrics and leather with paint (shoes, boots, bags, belts and chairs) and I make mittens out of recycled wool sweaters and fleece to donate to those in shelters. I love coming to RE, and letting my creativity run wild with all the cool things there are to play with.“

Workshop: Up-Cycled Wearable/Displayable Art
Saturday, March 7th, 1-3pm

Use acrylic paint to turn used or abandoned items into wearable and giftable art. Bring your own items (cleaned leather shoes, boots, jackets, belts) or shop The Resource Exchange for cool things to paint and turn into jewelry.

Workshop Goals: 
1. Give yourself permission to explore.
2. Unleash your creativity on everyday items
3. Create items you can display and wear.

Participants will leave with a small finished piece, or a good start on something, along with ideas of materials to buy and use at home.  Paints, two brushes and fabric medium will be provided.   The brushes will be yours to take home.  Wear clothes you can get paint on.

Workshop fee: $15 per participant.
