This piece was created using recycled canvas from a theater that I purchased at the resource exchange. It is a backpack designed to resemble a beetle. The arms of the beetle when wrapped around the body accentuate the wearer’s ribcage, allowing the rest of the form to act as an extension of the human body. It is a symbol of a symbiotic relationship between the beetle and the human wearing it, or in a broader context a symbiotic relationship between human and nature.
