The Resource Exchange + Swim Pony Performing Arts

The Resource Exchange hasn’t only provided materials for use on the stage this Fringe.  Swim Pony Performing Arts is using a wardrobe rack from our store behind the scenes of their show, The Ballad of Joe Hill, set in the atmospheric Eastern State Penitentiary.

We have tons of office, sewing, and organizational supplies that are useful for the many back stage scenarios that the Fringe Festival calls for.  Salvaged binders, paper clips, and highlighters have been especially useful for Flora Vassar, Stage Manager of The Ballad of Joe Hill.

Support creative reuse, making art from the arts, and The Resource Exchange by going to see The Ballad of Joe Hill!

Inside Eastern State Penitentiary, a lone woman sings a haunting refrain before kicking off a raucous vaudeville party with a ragtag band of clowns. With dark humor and the high-energy movement of early animation, they enact the story of Joe Hill, union leader, songwriter, and the defendant in a sensationalistic murder trial that ended with his execution.
