A lot of you have been asking for workshops to learn how to make something with our ever growing mountain of reclaimed fabric, so we are really excited about our recent line up of local textile-based artists. Our next workshop will be with our current reCreate Featured artist and Theatrical Costume Designer Heidi Barr, whose amazing costumes and designs are on display this month in our gallery:

Pattern Making Basics

– Have a simple favorite garment you’d like to replicate? Heidi can show you how without destroying the original!

– Want to get to know your machine and do a great sewing project? Come make a simple lunch or tote bag!

Workshop participants will make a pattern using an original favorite article of clothing as a guide; then Heidi will instruct you how to cut and sew a duplicate with reclaimed fabrics from The Resource Exchange.
